      Does going Baby Friendly make a difference? Several studies have shown that Baby Friendly accreditation can increase breastfeeding rates and reduce the incidence of illness.

      Is it possible to fail at Stage 2 and how can I avoid the pitfalls? By breaking down the many criteria for assessment into stages, the Baby Friendly team had anticipated that fewer facilities would be unable to meet the criteria regarding staff education.

      What happens when mothers from one maternity unit go home into different PCTs? If you are working towards maternity unit accreditation, this won’t make a difference to your accreditation process unless the community midwives are employed by a different Trust.

      Can multiple hospitals be assessed together? Economy of scale means that we encourage you to work with other units in your Trust, your PCT and so on...
