Meeting Step and Point 3 of the Baby Friendly Initiative Standards has proved to be a challenge for many facilities in the UK. Feedback from infant feeding leads suggests that while many women have been ‘given information’ about the health benefits and management of breastfeeding, at audit, they struggle to recall the information.
