First Steps Nutrition Trust, a new charity that offers information and resources to support good nutrition for children, has produced a new report for health professionals called Infant Milks in the UK.
This is an updated report, based on one written last year by the same authors for the Caroline Walker Trust, that provides “information on the composition of infant milks available for sale in the UK” and also covers some of the key issues relating to formula feeding. The authors will update the report every quarter to reflect market changes.
First Steps Nutrition Trust stresses its objectivity and receives no funding from the artificial feeding industry, but rather is funded “through charitable trusts and donations. We aim to provide a one stop shop for useful and accurate evidence-based information on good nutrition.” It also has information on nutrition for children up till the age of five, eating well during pregnancy, and food composition and additives.
