The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) General Secretary, Cathy Warwick, has officially lodged a petition with Parliament that calls on the Government to recruit an extra 5,000 midwives into the NHS in England. The RCM says this recruitment is essential to ensure that women and babies continue to receive good standards of care.
