The Wigan Group was formed in January 2009, by sisters Leanne Williams and Stacey Bolton, who after watching a harrowing documentary featuring the plight of children in orphanages in Europe felt compelled to do something to help. Having had previous fundraising success, Leanne and Stacey decided to turn their efforts, (along with their supportive mum!) to setting up a UNICEF group in the North West of England. The group is currently working hard on ideas for their first fundraising event, and are looking forward to a successful future as a UNICEF fundraising group.
