Whatever you do to raise money for UNICEF, keep your fundraising legal and safe.

If your fundraising is to be successful and enjoyable then you need to be mindful of any risk to yourself or others. Things to think about:

  • If you are holding the event in a public place you must have permission from the council or the landowner.
  • If you are likely to cause any disruption to the local area such as traffic disruption in the case of a bike ride , the you need to inform your local highways office.
  • If you are holding an event that is going to be attended by member of the public you need to check that the venue had public liabilty insurance.
  • If you are expecting a large number of people doing a strenous activity, you must ensure the availabilty of basic first aid.
  • Double check the fire exits in your venue and be aware of where the fire assembly points are.
  • Ensure that you have a copy of the guest list and useful phone numbers in case of any incident.
  • Always carry out a risk assessment before your event.
