“I’d encourage everyone to join me on this fantastic new UNICEF adventure – I’ve driven and ridden through India and can confirm we’re in for one of the most exciting and beautiful challenges of a lifetime. I can’t wait!” Charley Boorman

The 1,000 km route winds along Kerala’s coast, inland to Mysore, through the tiger reserves of Bandipur and Mudumallai and up through 36 hairpin bends to a vast expanse of tea plantations. The trip ends back in the serene backwaters of Kerala – an exquisite conclusion to a remarkable adventure.

To further explore the adventure you can read a blog about driving and riding through southern India.

If you’ve been inspired by Charley’s adventurers or would like to support UNICEF’s work with children this a great opportunity to do something different, fundraise and see our work in southern India first hand.

The practicalities

The event takes place from 30 November – 9 December 2012 so you have plenty of time to fundraise and prepare, but be sure to get in quickly to reserve your place.

We ask that you raise a minimum sponsorship target. For full payment details please see the booking conditions available to download on the right of this page. To reserve your place you'll need to pay a registration fee of £500.

You'll receive the full support of a designated member of our team to help you reach your target and we'll give you plenty of ideas and advice to make your fundraising a success.

“Don’t worry about your riding or driving abilities guys. This is no Dakar. There will be long days in the saddle and we will be pushed to our limits on some sections but we’ll have lots of time to take in the fantastic journey and experience all India has to offer.” Charley Boorman

You have the choice of riding a bullet, being pillion, driving an Ambassador or being a passenger/navigator so there really is something for everyone.
