The Children's Emergency Fund enables us to respond to emergencies as they arise, with aid usually arriving within 48 hours.Afterwards, we work to give children the long-term support and rehabilitation needed to rebuild their lives.
During an emergency every donation is critical.
Children of Syria Appeal
Over one million people have fled from the horrific violence in Syria, half of them children. And for the millions more who are still living in Syria, every single day is a struggle.
- Right now, our resources are at breaking point. Without extra funding we won't be able to reach every child who needs us.
Children have been displaced, lost homes and schools, and are struggling to get clean water, food and warmth. Some children have been victims of violence; beaten, shot at and physically and sexually abused.
We are providing children with clean water, medical care and clothing, as well as vaccinating against life-threatening diseases such as measles and polio. We're also running child-friendly spaces where children can be safe to play.
It is abhorrent that even one child has suffered, seen the unspeakable and lived through the unimaginable.
A gift of just £9 could provide a family with an emergency water kit, including a water container, bucket, soap and water purification tablets.
You can find further information on the main Syria emergency page.
Funds raised for this appeal will support children affected by the Syrian crisis. If the funds raised exceed UNICEF's funding requirement for this appeal, your gift will go to our Children's Emergency Fund.
