Although UNICEF is a non-religious, apolitical organisation, faith-based organisations are important partners in UNICEF’s work.

Religious leaders enjoy close and regular contact with communities, their voice is highly respected and they can be vital in influencing change. That's why UNICEF and partners from different faiths are acting together as advocates for children's rights on a wide range of programmes worldwide. In the UK, we work with faith groups who share our goal and vision and invite all communities to raise vital funds to support UNICEF’s work for children.

Fundraising ideas

There are several ways you and your faith group can get involved in fundraising and helping raise awareness of the vital issues we work on. You could:

  • Hold a bake sale at the end of a service or during a weekly youth group
  • Get together and hold the ultimate quiz night
  • Do anything from having a dinner party to cycling around your local area to hosting a raffle
