Day for Change 2017
Day for Change is Unicef UK’s annual fundraising campaign. It's back, bigger and better than ever. Day for Change is an easy way to fundraise and is open to any school that wants to support Unicef's work to protect children caught up in emergencies.
How can my school get involved?
The challenge is to get your school to collect as much loose change as possible by hosting any kind of fundraising activity, such as a non-uniform day, a cake sale or bring-a-pound day.
If organising an event isn't for you, you can still get involved in Day for Change. Whether you’re a pupil, teacher or parent, all you need to do is collect your spare change from around the house, down the side of the sofa, your pockets – and anywhere else you can think of.
The big change drop-off day will be on Wednesday 24 May, but you can fundraise whenever suits your school’s diary.
What resources will my school receive?
Every school that registers for Day for Change will be sent their welcome pack in January 2017, which includes a how-to-guide and lots of other useful fundraising resources.
Schools will receive access to a suite of online learning resources to help teach pupils about the experience of children caught in emergencies, the impact of conflict and disaster on their lives and how collecting change will keep them safe.
Where will my school’s change go?
By donating your change today you can help keep even more children safe from danger.
- £8 can supply high-energy food for a malnourished child for one week.
- £26 can pay for a winter kit for a child, including a hat, scarf, gloves, thermal wear, winter boots, underwear and a baby quilt.
- £100 can provide support for three children who have suffered the distress of war.
How can my school send in donations for Day for Change?
Please bring your donations to the bank, complete our sending in your money form (PDF) and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org, stating when you transferred your donations.
