6 month voluntary internship to start as soon as possible
Right now, children are in danger. They face violence, disease, hunger, and the chaos of war and disaster. This is wrong and it has to change. Unicef already ensures more of the world’s children are fed, vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws, policies and customs to help protect children than anyone else in history. Unicef UK raises money and campaigns to change children’s lives – doing whatever it takes until every child is safe.
Working under the direction of the Communications Team Executive, you will be part of a busy and dynamic Media Relations team. You will support the team in carrying out essential tasks such as logging and monitoring clippings, conducting research and gathering information. In addition you will work on specific media projects under the direction of the Media Managers.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, good communication skills and a proactive attitude are all vital, as is flexibility in being able to manage your own workload and provide support to others. Experience or interest in media is essential, with knowledge of international development desirable.
This six month internship is a first step into the world of Communications. It will give you the chance to develop skills for working with the media and the opportunity to gain knowledge of the humanitarian/development sector.
Lunch and reasonable travel expenses (zone 1-6 Travelcard or equivalent) will be reimbursed for each day in the office.
