UNICEF UK has launched a new campaign, It's Time to Share, to support children in crisis in East Africa.
As the famine in Somalia continues to spread, we're encouraging our supporters to share a little of what they have to help malnourished children across East Africa.
To mark the launch of the campaign, a group of children gathered in Parliament Square to empty £5 from their piggy banks, and to encourage the British public to donate £5 by texting SHARE to 78866.
"One girl or boy is dying of starvation every six minutes in Somalia," said UNICEF UK Deputy Executive Director Anita Tiessen "£5 can feed a child for a week."
