UNICEF UK is immensely grateful to our supporters for their concern and eagerness to help the children affected by the ongoing crisis in Japan.

At this stage, UNICEF UK has not launched an appeal for the children of Japan but we are standing by and monitoring the situation closely.

Our colleagues in Japan, supported by technical experts from across UNICEF and the wider UN family are monitoring immediate needs and responding accordingly, providing immediate relief supplies for children in severely affected areas, setting up child-friendly spaces and planning for the re-opening of school activities in time for the new school year in early April.

This is a rapidly changing situation, and we are regularly reviewing information from our offices in Japan. UNICEF UK stands ready to respond at very short notice in support of the efforts of our colleagues in Japan if needed.

UNICEF UK would like to thank our supporters for once again being ready to help children affected by major emergencies.
