A team of 30 Barclays lawyers are preparing to set out on a sponsored "Wheels for Change" five-day, 400 mile cycle ride from Edinburgh to London for UNICEF.

They aim to raise £100,000 for UNICEF’s measles immunisation programme, which will be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, making a combined fundraising total of £200,000.

"UNICEF's three-year partnership with Barclays helped to greatly improve the lives of countless young people in 13 countries," said Verity Rowles, Director, Corporate Fundraising for UNICEF UK. "Good luck to all the riders and thank you."

"Barclays has a strong and successful partnership with UNICEF and we decided we wanted to do something more for the charity," said Shane Hawkins, Chief of Staff for Barclays Retail and Business Banking legal team, who is leading the event.

The group will leave Edinburgh on 1 September at 9am, and finish the journey at Piccadilly Circus four days later.
