Two employers from Barclays, Nick Salisbury and Jennifer Ollerenshaw, travelled to Rwanda in February 2011 to learn more about the UNICEF and Barclays' ongoing Building Young Futures project.

UNICEF works with Rwanda's Ministry of Education to help set the country's educational benchmarks. The money raised by Building New Futures is put towards establishing sustainable, child-friendly schools, that benefit from improved infrastructure, support for teachers, and improved curricula. These schools can then become models to which neighbouring schools aspire.

These photos were taken by a local photographer, Laurent, who grew up in Uganda, but whose family returned to Rwanda after the genocide in 1994.
