UNICEF has estimated that over two million young children are malnourished and in need of urgent life-saving action in East Africa. High food prices, ongoing conflict and a prolonged drought are worsening an already dire situation for many hundreds of thousands in need of food and water.
Ongoing conflict is also forcing thousands of families to cross from Somalia to Kenya and Ethiopia, placing further strain on already overcrowded refugee camps. More than 10,000 Somalis a week are now arriving in the Dadaab refugee camps in eastern Kenya, as seen in the pictures here. Camp workers must meet the needs of some 360,000 people in facilities meant for 90,000.
Please donate now and save children's lives in East Africa.
