'Floods, famine and forced marriages: How you're supporting the work that gives children hope' is the Spring 2011 edition of UNICEF UK's quarterly magazine, Childmatters.
In this edition, find out about an often unreported issue due to its controversial nature - that of child marriage. When a child marries she can be denied her rights, be subjected to sexual, physical and mental abuse, and might never return to education. Read the story of Nojoud, who at the age of ten was forced into a marriage with a man three times her age, and find out what UNICEF is doing to help change this practice.
This edition also includes an update on the situation in Pakistan after the terrible floods in the summer of 2010, and how UNICEF is helping those affected to rebuild their lives.
You can also find out how UNICEF's innovative Mother and Baby Pack is helping children be born free from HIV in Zambia, and read one-year-old Elson's story.
