Even during the summer holidays, Dahvan and her brother attend classes every day.

Their school is in Golol camp for internally displaced people, and serves as a child-friendly space until school officially re-opens in September.

Over 150 schools for displaced children in Mogadishu cater for nearly 40,000 children who have fled conflict.

The drought and famine have forced tens of thousands more families to Mogadishu. For many children this means they've had to abandon education. UNICEF is helping them go back to school.
