Celebrity supporter Sophie Okonedo has visited Sudan with Martin Bell, UNICEF UK Ambassador for Humanitarian Emergencies, and Baan Bang Muang School in Thailand following the tsunami, to see UNICEF’s emergency work in action.

Sophie Okonedo first gained critical acclaim for her role as Cressida in Trevor Nunn‘s production of Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida at London’s National Theatre. Films like Dirty Pretty Things followed with great success and shortly after witnessing her performance, filmmaker Terry George approached her for a role in the internationally acclaimed film Hotel Rwanda.
