Andrew O’Hagan is a Scottish writer and novelist. He became a UNICEF UK Ambassador in 2001 and since this time has been a committed advocate for UNICEF's work. He has travelled extensively to see UNICEF in action and has written several short stories inspired by these trips.

In 2010 Andrew supported our Put it Right campaign by recording five audio stories about each of the children featured in the campaign. This audio gallery was in collaboration with the Guardian website. Happy Birthday, Dear Happy was written following a trip to Malawi to meet children and families who had been made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS. He has contributed to Weekenders: Travels to the heart of Africa and edited Weekenders: Adventures in Calcutta. All of which are raising awareness of, or funds for, UNICEF's work.
