The IKEA Foundation has partnered with UNICEF and Save the Children to improve children’s rights and life opportunities, and to create substantial and lasting change.
Through fundraising campaigns IKEA has supported UNICEF and Save the Children education projects in over thirty countries since the campaign began in 2003. Globally, they've raised over 35 million euros, helping improve the lives of more than eight million children.
IKEA and UNICEF have a longstanding international partnership. IKEA has also helped to fund UNICEF projects in Angola and Uganda that work with children who are affected by armed conflicts.
Soft Toy Campaign 2011
In October 2011 IKEA launched its latest soft toy fundraising campaign in aid of children's education projects around the world.
For every soft toy, children’s book or children's meal bought between 24th October and 23rd December, IKEA will donate 1 euro to education initiatives supported by UNICEF and Save the Children.
This latest campaign aims to raise over 12 million euros for projects ranging from reading classes in Albania to school toilet building in Tajikistan.
