International Inspiration is the ground-breaking international legacy programme of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The programme was created after London won the bid for the 2012 Games, following Sebastian Coe's pledge to "reach young people all around the world and connect them to the inspirational power of the Games."

Some of International Inspiration’s key achievements:

    •    12 million children and young people have actively participated in sport, physical education and play as a direct result of International Inspiration – many for the first time in their lives.

    •    Around 79,000 teachers, coaches and young leaders have been trained to lead sport, physical education and play in their schools and communities, learning new skills.

With less than a year to go until the 2012 Olympic Games, some of Britain’s top sports heroes, including David Beckham, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Denise Lewis, Colin Jackson and Sir Chris Hoy have pledged to help deliver on the promise that was made by the London bid team in Singapore.
