Beyond Sport is a global organisation that promotes, develops and supports the use of sport to drive positive social change across the world.

The relationship between Beyond Sport and UNICEF began at Beyond Sport’s inception, with UNICEF UK playing a key role in developing the scope of the inaugural awards in London, as well as being the beneficiaries of a donation from Beyond Sport for UNICEF’s sport for development work.

Following this, UNICEF became involved in the shortlisting for the Beyond Sport Awards, including the UNICEF Child Rights Awards and becoming Beyond Sport’s official International Development Partner.

UNICEF is now playing a key role in leading on the development of the Girl’s Education Symposium which is part of the Beyond Sport Summit – a series of conferences and workshops that take place alongside the Beyond Sports Award Ceremony.

The Beyond Sport Awards are designed to recognise and reward the best sport for development projects from across the world. The Awards incorporate 12 categories covering the entire sporting spectrum of health, social inclusion, corporate and social responsibility, and philanthropy.

The winners of the Award will receive funding and a package of substantial business support, and will be invited at the Beyond Sport Summit 2011, that will take place in Cape Town from December 5-8 2011.
