UNICEF UK Ambassador
Jemima Khan (formerly Jemima Goldsmith) has been a UNICEF UK Ambassador for over 15 years and has been passionately campaigning for children and children’s rights ever since.
Jemima’s #WakeUpCall campaign encouraged a morning selfie trend to support UNICEF UK’s work for children in Syria. Many celebrities and supporters have joined in, including fellow UNICEF UK Ambassador Tom Hiddleston.
An active supporter of UNICEF UK’s campaigns, Jemima visited Romania in 2004 where she met girls affected by child trafficking, and Kenya in 2005 where she met children affected by HIV and AIDS.
Jemima travelled with UNICEF UK to Pakistan in 2006 to see our emergency relief operations after the earthquake, and again in 2009 to see UNICEF’s child-friendly spaces set up in camps for people escaping the violence in the Swat valley.
I can’t help making comparisons with my own children... I found myself drawn to children of a similar age and wanting to know what they’re going through. And, of course, identifying the stark differences.

Jemima is also a committed fundraiser for UNICEF UK, whose events have provided vital funds for our work for children for various programmes around the globe. In 2013 Jemima founded UNICEF UK’s first Halloween Ball that raised over £1 million for the children of Syria, and has been the chair of the event ever since.
In 2014, Jemima visited Jordan to Za’atari refugee camp with the Halloween Ball Committee to meet Syrian children who have fled the conflict and now live in camps and Jordanian host communities.
