Join our campaign to ensure that all babies have the chance to be Born Free from HIV.
UNICEF wants to:
- Prevent almost 500,000 babies being born with HIV each year, passed on by their mother during pregnancy, labour or delivery.
- Address the global shortage of over 4 million health workers so that pregnant women have access to the medical care which will prevent mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT).
- Ensure that the funding needed to achieve universal access to PMTCT programmes by 2010 is delivered.
