The Convention of the Rights of the Child

Ask your MP to champion child rights

Twenty years ago on 20th November, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) was adopted. The Convention sets out the rights that every child is entitled to. This includes the right to have a standard of living which meets their physical and mental needs.

The effects of poverty on children

Growing up in poverty can profoundly affect the health and well-being of children. Despite the UK being one of the world’s richest countries, there are around 4 million children living poverty.

Champion child rights in the UK

Help mark the 20th anniversary of the UN CRC by taking action to uphold the right of UK children. Ask your MP to write to the Chancellor of the Exchequer to prioritise the issue of child poverty in his Pre-Budget. No child in the UK should be denied their rights.
