Major
earthquake
in Syria and Türkiye
Thousands are reported to have been killed by the huge earthquake that hit Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria.
The 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Türkiye and Syria at around 4 am local time on 6 February. Millions of people across the region felt the earthquake, including in Lebanon, Israel, Cyprus, and Egypt.
We are especially concerned for the safety and well-being of children who have lost their homes, those who are sleeping rough, and those who have been separated from their families. Please support us to reach the children affected by this disaster.
How will my donation help children?
In Syria, we are mobilising supplies and services to support the urgent needs of children and families. Whilst we are ready to support the response in Türkiye as and when requested by the Government.
Children face extra risks to their health without supplies of food and clean water. We are working round the clock to protect the health and welfare of children.
