Running the Marathon for UNICEF

Are you interested in running the Marathon and raising funds for UNICEF?

Last year UNICEF runners raised over £60,000 for UNICEF’s campaign for children affected by AIDS. By joining team UNICEF for this year’s marathon, you too can help provide protection and care for children orphaned by AIDS, or living in the shadow of HIV.

Getting a place to run in the marathon

The public ballot application process for the Flora London Marathon 2007 was open from August until the end of October and is now closed.

A place in the ballot?

If you have gained your own place in the London Marathon through the public ballot we would love you to run for Team UNICEF. Please email marathon@unicef.org.uk with your full postal address and telephone number requesting an ‘Own Place’ runners pack or call 0870 606 3377.

UNICEF Golden Bond places

UNICEF has a limited number of “Golden Bond places” available.

The UNICEF Golden Bond application process opened in August and closes on 31 December. To apply for a Golden Bond place, or to find out more about becoming a UNICEF runner, please call 0870 606 3377 or email marathon@unicef.org.uk with your full postal address so that we can send you the application pack. Demand for places is high, so please take time to fill in the application form as places are awarded on the merit of this form.

Running for UNICEF

As a UNICEF runner, you will get a support pack with fundraising ideas, training tips and also detailed information on the Unite for Children, Unite Against Aids Campaign, to help you raise awareness and obtain even more sponsorship for this worthwhile cause. You will also get a running vest and access to our new online sponsorship facility ‘My Fundraising’. We are also hoping to hold a reception for runners on race day.
