Take action now

Water shortages, a decline in nutrition, increased levels of global diseases such as malaria, and natural disasters are all consequences of climate change, caused by unsustainable carbon emissions. The World Health Organisation estimates that 150,000 lives are already being lost each year as a direct result of climate change.

The risk is so severe that it threatens to undo decades of development efforts, with children in developing countries among the worst affected.

Stop climate chaos

The Climate Change Bill, currently going through Parliament, sets a binding emissions reduction target. However, this target does not go far enough. Crucially, the Bill leaves out the aviation and shipping industries -  some of the UK’s fastest growing source of carbon emissions. It also sets the UK’s target at 20 per cent below the level needed to make a substantial difference to reduce the impact of climate change.
