The Jar of Grace appeal invites Christians to set aside a special jar into which they can drop a coin whenever they say grace at meal time.

Congregations can take part in Jar of Grace during Harvest, Advent, Lent, Easter or at any other convenient time. To promote the appeal, we can provide you and your church with leaflets, posters and information sheets.

For more information on the appeal and to order a Jar of Grace pack, please email Jar of Grace or call 0844 801 2414. Alternatively download the Jar of Grace Information Sheet.

Why Jar of Grace is supporting children in emergencies

Children are often the most severely affected by emergencies such as war, earthquakes, floods, droughts, cyclones and other disasters. When an emergency strikes, UNICEF staff react rapidly to ensure that the needs of these children are met.

UNICEF provides lifesaving supplies to ensure children have access to clean water, medical care, adequate nutrition, protection and education. Disease can spread rapidly after an emergency. UNICEF works swiftly to ensure that outbreaks are halted or minimised by providing water kits including purification tablets. Children can also become malnourished in times of emergency; to prevent this, UNICEF distributes lifesaving protein-rich porridge.

There are many other ways UNICEF assists in emergencies. For more information and examples of emergencies UNICEF has supported in the past, download the information sheet.
