East Africa Children's Crisis
Right now, today, children in East Africa are facing a desperate crisis caused by prolonged drought, soaring food prices and conflict. The United Nations has declared a famine in several areas of southern Somalia.
This crisis is getting worse and we need to act now to save lives.
Children and women are the most vulnerable. A total of 6.7 million children in Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia need urgent assistance, including almost 320,000 children suffering from life-threatening severe acute malnutrition.
We are scaling up life-saving efforts for children in therapeutic feeding, providing access to safe water and sanitation, as well as preventing the spread of killer diseases including measles through vaccination campaigns.
We are the main provider of ready to use therapeutic food in all three countries, but we desperately need more funds in order to help us reach every child.
Please donate now.
