In the next 20 seconds a child will die from a preventable disease.

We live in a world where children's lives are in danger from illnesses that are easy to prevent or treat. With your help, Unicef will continue fighting disease until every child is safe.

Measles kills more than 145,700 children worldwide every year. Those who survive are often left with long-term disabilities such as blindness, deafness or brain damage. Last year, in humanitarian emergencies alone, Unicef vaccinated nearly 16 million children against the deadly measles virus.

Measles, polio, tetanus, tuberculosis, diphtheria and whooping cough are all easily and cheaply preventable by immunisation.

£12 could provide a cool-box carrier that will help a health worker get vaccines to the children who need them.

Donate today and support Unicef's life-saving work to protect millions of children from disease.

Help us reach our goal of putting an end to preventable disease and the tragic deaths of children. By supporting Unicef, you can protect a child in danger now - and you can make a safer world for children tomorrow.

Funds raised for this appeal will help to protect children against preventable diseases. If the funds raised exceed Unicef's funding requirements for this appeal the money will go to Unicef UK's general fund.
