UNICEF UK calls for the protection of trafficked children

In response to the news of a leaked Metropolitan Police report on child trafficking and exploitation in the UK, UNICEF UK is calling for immediate action from the UK Government, stating that despite continued lobbying for better child protection policy in the UK, children are still being abused and sexually exploited by traffickers every day.

The leaked report stated that an unknown number of children are being trafficked from Africa into ritualistic abuse, bonded labour and sexual exploitation in the UK. It is the latest in a string of new statistics and warnings about child trafficking in this country, including an earlier police report highlighting the disappearance of 300 children in London schools.
