C8 participants deliver recommendations to G8 leaders

UNICEF has provided a platform so children can discuss and express their views on the issues being debated at the G8. In order for the forum to represent a genuine expression of the children’s views and experiences, UNICEF has not sought to influence their debate so the views expressed in the following text are those of the C8 participants and do not necessarily represent those of the organisers. 

We 17 young people from around the world have come together to initiate the C8 – a children’s version of the G8 summit. We want the G8 leaders to ensure:

  • Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in all countries around the world.
  • They act to implement our right to participate effectively in our world. We don’t just want to be part of the future; we are the present.
