New UK Bill on International Development Reporting and Transparency passes second reading
UNICEF UK Ambassador Jemima Khan represented UNICEF UK at a reception in Parliament on Thursday 19th January, organised to show support for Tom Clarke MP’s International Development bill which was being debated the following day. This bill will enshrine for the first time in legislation the UK’s target to give 0.7% of gross national income (GNI) in international aid, by 2013.
Nick Brown MP (Labour), Angela Browning MP (Conservative) and John Barrett MP (Liberal Democrat), sponsors of the bill, co-hosted the reception on Thursday evening, demonstrating cross-party support ahead of the bill’s second reading in the House of Commons, on Friday 20th January. View
