Report shows barriers to services for child asylum seekers

A new report commissioned by UNICEF UK across three Local Authorities shows that unaccompanied immigrant children experience racism, struggle to cope with the mental trauma experienced on their journeys to the UK and are vulnerable to exploitation.

The report, ‘Levelling the Playing Field’,  looks at unaccompanied and separated migrant children who are in private fostering, have been trafficked or are seeking asylum in Solihull, Harrow and Kent. It analyses the factors that increase or decrease these children’s ability to access accommodation, health and education services.
