UNICEF and partners release Mother & Baby Pack to help babies be born free from HIV

UNICEF, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners, has developed an innovative and user-friendly pack to give mothers-to-be living with HIV all the medicines they need to help their baby be born free from HIV.

The pack, released in time for Mother’s Day, contains all of the medicines needed for the mother and for the infant and consists of 3 sub-packs – one for the antenatal period, one for during delivery, and one for after birth. The pack is designed to be distributed to HIV-positive pregnant women at their first antenatal clinic visit, from 28 weeks of pregnancy onwards.
