In 2010, your school is invited to help improve children’s health and education in Mozambique by taking part in Day for Change.
Every day in Mozambique, about 400 children under the age five die, mainly of preventable causes. One in two children lack safe drinking water and around one in three girls do not get the chance to attend primary school. UNICEF is changing children’s lives in Mozambique, but we need your help to do more.
For more than 20 years, schools across the UK have held an annual Day for Change, learning about and raising money for children around the world.
Day for Change 2010 officially takes place on 5 February, but your school can choose any date in the calendar on which to celebrate.
In exchange for making a change for that day – for instance, wearing fancy dress, a sponsored water walk, or a cake sale – parents, children and teachers make a donation to improve education and health for children in Mozambique.
Every school that registers receives a free resource kit packed with fundraising ideas, assembly and lesson plans, real life stories, stickers, posters and much more to make their Day for Change a success. Schools can download additional resources or print out extra copies by following the links below:
Schools across the country are taking part, so make sure you don’t miss out on a chance to make a change for children!
If your school would like to use your Day for Change to fundraise for the Haiti Earthquake Children's Appeal, you can find additional information about UNICEF's response to this disaster here. Please make clear in your Day for Change sending in your money form that you wish the money raised to go to the Haiti Earthquake Emergency Appeal.
