Actor Keira Knightley visited the country to see UNICEF’s vital immunisation work for children. She also spent time with Idris and his family.
When Idris was only a year old he contracted polio, which paralysed him from the waist down.
He has learnt to get around by pulling himself along the ground, and his mum and dad have made him a stand for him to practise holding himself up.
But all he wants to do is play outside with the other children. When asked, the other children say that they aren’t friends with him.
Idris’s parents are doing all they can to help give Idris hope for the future, but children like Idris shouldn’t have to suffer like this.
