What is Soccer Aid supporting?

Where the money raised by Soccer Aid went

Soccer Aid raised funds for UNICEF through donations from the public, money generously donated by Endemol from ticket and programme sales and from ITV’s competition and voting line on the shows. UNICEF needs to fundraise as it is unique within the UN family in that it does not receive any funding from the United Nations.

The funds raised by Soccer Aid went to support specific projects, highlighted below, which are run by UNICEF and delivered with its partners.

UNICEF works through local staff in the field and by supporting many carefully selected partner organisations. We currently run programmes for children in over 150 countries.

How much of my gift really goes to the children?

People often ask “but how much money actually goes to the children?” UNICEF’s priority is to get help to the children who need it. Of the £2.6m raised, less than eight per cent was used to cover administration and fundraising costs.

Gift Aid it!

If you make a donation to Soccer Aid and are a UK tax payer, then make sure to tick the Gift Aid box as this will mean we receive a further £2.80 from the Inland Revenue for every £10 you give. And that means extra funds for children at no cost to you.
