This resource is designed to bring together knowledge and understanding of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and discussion of values

in everyday life, as a constructive part of 'speaking and listening' within English and citizenship programmes for 11-16-year-olds.

Downloads
You can download Unit 1: Talking about rights, from the box on the right. You can download the other five units below, as well as the cover,

programmes of study and learning outcomes, and the resources section.

Using this resource
As nearly all of the activities either use the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child or refer to it, we suggest that you cover Units 1 and 2, which provide

information about the content of the Convention, first. While many activities are effective independently, most relate to the central theme of learning about

rights and their accompanying responsibilities. Therefore, using this resource comprehensively will enable your students to examine the implications

of the Convention for their own behaviour and their understanding of the society in which they live.
