The updated Wants and Needs activity pack is now available as a download for self-assembly (pdf 2.42mb).
The 20 illustrated cards show aspects of life that pupils have to decide are either a 'want' or a 'need', leading to recognition that 'needs' are also 'rights'. The cards are very popular and are an ideal way of introducing children's rights and responsibilities.
Teachers will need to photocopy these onto A4 sheets of card, cut them up and assemble sets of cards for groups of pupils.
They are suitable for 8-16-year-olds.
There are also two A4 sheets for teachers with accompanying activities and a summary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
