Petition the Chancellor to help stop babies being born with HIV
Sign the petition to ensure babies are born free from HIV.

Last year, as part of the Born Free from HIV campaign, UNICEF called for more health workers in developing countries. Without doctors, nurses and other health workers, pregnant mothers with HIV can’t receive the medicine and care needed for their babies to be born free from the virus.

With almost half a million babies being born with HIV each year, we also demanded urgent action from world leaders.

In June 2007, the leaders of the G8 countries promised to help raise $1.5 billion so that all babies have the chance to be born free from HIV.

Now we need them to deliver that promise.

You can help ensure that this happens by signing our petition. We are asking the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, to make sure the leaders keep their promise when he attends the G8 meetings this year.

With your help, we can ensure all mothers receive the care they need and greatly reduce the number of babies being born with HIV.
