Every year, UNICEF changes the lives of millions of children around the world. But we can’t do it without you!
All over the UK, young people are putting the fun back into fundraising and we’ve created a pack especially to help you. It has lots of tips on how to raise money for UNICEF and the sort of fun events you might like to organise. It also gives useful examples of the ways that your money can help children.
We think it’s really great that you want to get involved! Once you’ve collected the money and sent it to UNICEF, you will receive a thank you letter and certificate stating how much you’ve raised to help the world’s children.
Keen to get started? You can download your own copy of the pack straight away. Or, if you are happy to wait 10 days for the post to arrive, just contact us and we will send you one. While you’re waiting, here are some tried and tested ideas to get your ideas flowing.
My Fundraising
Whether you’re doing a sponsored swim, baking cakes or kicking a bad habit, you can create your very own fundraising page with UNICEF’s brand new My Fundraising section. Personalise your page, get your friends and family to sponsor you online, and keep track of the money you’ve raised. Create your page now!
Get active
There are tons of sporty things you can do to raise money. Get people to sponsor you to swim, run, cycle, or even have a five-a-side. If running’s your thing, check out these fun runs and see if you can find one near you.
Get your school involved
Every year, thousands of young people do something different at school and raise money for UNICEF on Day for Change. Bin your blazers, wear a silly hat or spend the day in your pyjamas. Find out more about how to get your school on board for Day for Change.
Give it up for children
What’s your favorite bad habit? Watching soaps? Eating junk food? Getting your mum to drive you around everywhere? Give it up for children for two weeks or a month - ask people to sponsor you for missing out.
Sweet taste of success
Capitalise on people’s sugar cravings. Organise a cake sale - why not pick a "food of the world" theme? Or, hold a cake baking competition for your friends and sell off their entries – that way you don’t have to make them all yourself!
Do other people’s dirty work
There are some jobs that no-one really likes doing – washing the car, mowing the lawns, or walking the dogs in the rain. But, amazingly, these jobs are actually quite fun to do if someone pays you to do them – and you get to raise lots of money for UNICEF. (Make sure you don't go alone and only offer to people you know!).
Get gunged
Sit in a bath of baked beans. Let people throw wet sponges at you. Fill your wellies with jelly. Charge people for the pleasure of laughing at you. You’ll have more fun than you think.

Once you've decided what to do.
Think about: Where you're going to do it and when?

How many people do you expect to attend?
How are you going to let them know?
Contact us for more help, for balloons and badges and other stuff.
