On 7 March 2019 Liverpool became the sixth city to join the Child Friendly Cities &amp; Communities programme and the first in the North West of England. The new partnership was launched with 70 young people invited to the Council Chamber to put their questions to Unicef UK and local politicians, 40 primary school children taking part in a special World Book Day storytelling session with local children\u2019s author Alan Gibbons, and the raising of the Child Friendly Cities &amp; Communities flag over Liverpool Town Hall.  Over the next three-to-five-years the CFC team will be working across the city \u2013 with local politicians, council staff, fire, police and health services, universities, community organisations and children and young people \u2013 to support Liverpool to put children\u2019s rights into practice.
