Why we are working together?
Micro Focus and UNICEF UK are partnering to ensure children everywhere can access their right to learn. We are working together to reimagine education by strengthening national education systems, improving the quality of learning and helping children and young people around the world to thrive in a digital future.
What we are doing?
Micro Focus partnered with UNICEF UK for the first time in 2021, as part of Micro Focus INSPIRE – the company’s global Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) programme. The partnership saw the company donating crucial funds towards UNICEF’s education programmes around the world – in line with the company’s social purpose of helping to equip communities with the skills needed to be successful in their digital lives.
UNICEF believes that every child has a right to an education regardless of who they are, where they live or how much money their family has. In 2020, UNICEF supported the learning of over 300 million children globally and the support from Micro Focus will help to continue this work going forwards.
What we could achieve
Micro Focus’ donation towards UNICEF education programs could fund:
16,000

6,631

18,000
young people learning to use smartphones in East and Southern Africa (ESAR)
