Our Children’s Emergency Fund helps children affected by disasters and conflict, wherever they are, whenever crisis hits. When children find themselves caught in a conflict zone, or in the chaos of a natural disaster, we work around the clock to provide life-saving support to families in need.

What’s happening?

Children in the Horn of Africa are facing one of the worst climate-induced emergencies in the last 40 years and with food supplies now spiralling out of control due to the war in Ukraine, this situation is set to get worse. Almost 5.5 million children are threatened by acute malnutrition in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia and Eritrea.

In Ukraine, more than half of Ukraine’s 7.5million children have been forced to flee the ongoing violence.

The world is witnessing increasing conflict and climate related disasters. Children suffer first and suffer most and they need us right now.

Our Children’s Emergency Fund enables us to provide children and families with critical support and services when they need it most.

Your kind support, will help us to support more children and families affected by disaster and conflict.

Children are coming under attack in conflicts around the world. We can’t accept this as a ‘new normal’.

As more people move to urban areas in search of a better life, vulnerability increases and support networks can break down. When disasters hit, like floods, cyclones, earthquake or tsunami, the impacts on children and families are deep and lasting.

In the face of so many crises, we continues to support every child everywhere – no matter what. But we need your help to do so.

In times of crisis, children suffer most. Across the world, over 30 million children have been displaced by conflict alone. On top of this there are even more children displaced by natural disasters, such as cyclones, earthquakes and landslides. These situations can leave children without their homes, schools and families. Their access to shelter, food, water and medicines can be seriously affected and children are left more vulnerable to abuse and exploitation.

In the wake of Cyclone Batsirai, in Madagascar, thousands of children needed humanitarian assistance. We worked urgently to support the needs of more than 37,000 children.

After Typhoon Rai, which tore through the central Philippines causing damage and displacing thousands, the Children’s Emergency Fund provided vital support as we worked with the government to reach 845,000 children in urgent need of support. In under-reported crises like conflict in Mozambique, the Children’s Emergency Fund enables us to fill critical gaps in support and services for vulnerable children.

When an emergency hits, we are there ready to provide immediate, life-saving care and supplies, as well as lasting support to help families rebuild their lives.

Donate to our Children’s Emergency Fund and help us be there for children whenever disaster and conflict strikes.

How your donation helps?

Your donation can help us reach children facing conflicts and health crises around the world, including children affected by coronavirus. Our Children’s Emergency Fund is one of the most effective and efficient ways to help reach children in crisis. It enables us to target support to specific areas, whenever it’s needed, without delay.

In regions of conflict we work, alongside our partners to providing cash assistance to families in need, essential education services for children, access to safe water, crucial vaccinations, and access to mental health and psychosocial support.

This is in addition to helping to limit and reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Your gift will go directly to our Children’s Emergency Fund to save and protect children in emergencies around the world.
