Supporting children
in Brazil and in UK Schools
Our Partnership
UNICEF UK is the official charity partner of the Rugby League World Cup 2021.
UNICEF’s vision is a world in which every child, no matter how hard to reach, survives and thrives in a safe, clean, nurturing environment.
Our partnership with the Rugby League World Cup 2021 will help ensure that the tournament leaves a long-lasting social impact by using the power of sport to raise awareness and funds for UNICEF’s work in protecting children in the UK and Brazil.
How your donation helps
Through the Rights Respecting Schools Award, we work with schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured, and they are able to thrive.
The Rights Respecting Schools Award embeds key values in daily school life and gives children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens that give back to their local community. Your support could enable UNICEF UK to expand our programmes with existing and new schools in the North East of England and Yorkshire.
In Brazil, UNICEF is working to break the cycle of violence against children. Our programmes cover systems strengthening, as well as community support schemes to raise awareness and to influence behaviour.
RLWC2021 is supporting UNICEF’s work in Rio de Janeiro, where children are exposed to elevated levels of violence. With the help of RLWC’s funding, UNICEF reached over 1.8 million people with violence prevention messaging and tools; trained 270 local child protection professionals to improve their ability to tackle the root causes of violence; and provided more than 1,300 children with personal development and psychosocial support sessions.
Why UNICEF?
UNICEF makes sure more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws, policies and customs to help protect children than any other charity. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.
We receive no funding from the UN budget. We rely entirely on voluntary donations like yours to fund our vital work to protect children in danger, transforming their lives and building a safer world for tomorrow’s children.
Please consider donating, to support UNICEF’s work in Brazil and the UK.
Thank you.
