General Election

Make protecting children
an election priority

Home > Publications > General Election 2017

Ahead of the General Election on 8 June, Unicef UK is calling on all the major political parties to commit to protecting the world’s most vulnerable children by ensuring life-saving aid is spent in a way that alleviates poverty, and by protecting refugee children from traffickers and reuniting them with their family.

You can help raise these priorities with your political candidates in your constituency. Download our doorstep talking points for when you have candidates and volunteers knock on your door to discuss why you should vote for them and their party.

You might also want to arrange a meeting with your local candidates or attend a local hustings to ask questions on UK aid and unaccompanied refugee children. Our guide gives you information on how to do this, including a handout for your local election candidates.
