Donate to help us reach more children and families in Gaza
After months of intense hostilities in Gaza, tens of thousands of people have been killed, 70% of whom are women and children. Children have had to leave their homes, sometimes separated from their caregivers.
Despite the situation, we are in Gaza alongside our partners and local communities to deliver lifesaving supplies and services including:
- medical care
- nutrition support and lifesaving therapeutic food
- clean water for drinking and sanitation
There are no safe spaces in Gaza.
What is happening in Gaza?
The violence and destruction of services in Gaza has left 2.3 million people in need, following the brutal attacks in Israel on 7 October.
- 600,000 children are trapped in Rafah. The escalation of violence in the city will be catastrophic for them.
- Children are dying of malnutrition and dehydration and the risk of famine is growing
- On average, people are eating less than 12% of the recommended daily calorie intake
- 87% of all schools in Gaza have been damaged and destroyed
These conditions are simply intolerable and pose long-term threats to the quality of life for children. Please donate to help children in Gaza receive the nutrition support they need to survive and grow up healthy.
Help us reach more children in the State of Palestine
With the help of kind donations, partners and local communities in Gaza, we have been able to:
- improve water and sanitation services to deliver clean water to 1.6 million people
- treat malnourished children with over 3,700 ready-to-use cartons of therapeutic food
- supply over 3,000 adolescent girls with personal care packages including sanitary pads
- benefit thousands of children and families with mental health support
Unfortunately, this meets only a tiny proportion of the escalating needs.
As supplies and living conditions quickly decline, we need your donations to help us reach more children.
FAQs
We continue to call for an immediate ceasefire and for the killing and targeting of all children to stop.
To help us meet the needs of children and families in Gaza, we are calling for:
- Increased access for trucks bringing life-saving supplies into Gaza.
- Protection and access for those delivering aid.
- An immediate, long-lasting humanitarian ceasefire.
- More than anything, the children of the State of Palestine and Israel need a lasting political solution to the crisis, so that they can grow up in peace and free from the shadow of violence
We are calling for the immediate end of hostilities, and for all parties to unconditionally protect children from harm no matter who or where they are.
We are an impartial, non-political humanitarian organisation. While we continue to report on and advocate for the protection of all children in both Gaza and Israel, our humanitarian response is driven by the need.
Before this renewed violence, one million children needed humanitarian aid in Gaza and the West Bank. In high-income countries such as Israel, the State usually provides the supplies and services for children that we undertake or supports in lower income countries.
There is a National Committee for UNICEF in Israel – the Israeli Fund for UNICEF – that works to promote and raise awareness of children’s rights in Israel and to raise funds for our work across the world. You can find out more about its work here.
UNICEF has an ongoing humanitarian programme in Gaza and has continued to provide supplies and services during the escalation of hostilities.
Alongside our partners, we have moved hundreds of trucks into Gaza with critical emergency supplies such as:
- Hygiene kits
- Nutritional food

- Water containers

In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed what’s needed for the appeal, we will direct any excess funds to support our work to help keep children safe and healthy around the world.
